My name is Doran Richards and I am the founder for Blessing God's Way. I started Blessing God's Way ministry about 9 years ago because I saw the need for women to see and learn about God being the Creator of their cycles. I want women to be able to celebrate God's design for them - I want to inspire, encourage and pray for them; serving them however God leads me to, through this ministry.

I am happily married for 17 years and have six beautiful blessings. I wear many hats: homeschooling mom, midwifery student, and I hold a position on the board of International Christian Childbirth Coalition, which is newly formed (www.christianchildbirthcoalition.org). I also help my husband with his wonderful building company, Richards's Homes, LLC (www.richardshomesllc.com). Currently, I am studying midwifery independently as well with a preceptor in the hopes of pursuing the calling of serving women as a Midwife. I attend births as primary midwife (under supervision of a CPM). It is such a blessing to be witness to such a miracle time and time again. My family attends Christ Chuch in Virginia -www.christchurchva.net and we believe in a strong church community and relationships. We are grateful for a country where we have the freedom to worship God, we pray that we never take that for granted!

Maidens by His Design Workshops:

November 4 & 5, 2011. This workshop is being held in WV, near VA, MD and PA. The workshops are taught by Doran Richards, unless otherwise noted. The registration is on the Maidens by His Design page.

Midwifery Study Group - Ongoing:

We are studying out of Daphne Singingtree's Midwifery Workbook. We meet every last Wednesday of the month starting at 6:30 pm going till 9:00 pm. We assign topics and then go through them - then use the last hour to just study with one another and research and look at the textbooks. We welcome new students and women who are interested in learnign about birth from a normal-life-process point of view!

Home Birth Information Nights:

Join us as we discover the benefits of birthing your baby at home. Have you considered the option but are a little hesitant to make the plunge? Well, come and learn and educate yourself on the safety of this option for low risk healthy women. Dads are welcome to come and ask questions (are encouraged for that matter!). You will leave the meeting with lots of handouts and feeling more confident than ever for choosing home birth!

Christian Childbirth Classes:

These 8 weeks worth of classes are awesome - keeping pregnant women spiritually, mentally and physically in tune and balance. The are affordable and a great way to meet other women in their pregnancies. Please see the Christian Childbirth page for registering and an overview of the classes being taught. If you are not pregnant, but know of women who are, please pass this information on to them!
