Let BGW come and speak for your church, homeschool group, organiztaion or friends and family.

Below is a list of talks that I offer if you would like to consider having me, Doran Richards, speak or do a workshop or conference, please see the information below. I do not speak during school months due to my vigorous homeschooling schedule of five children!

Where will BGW conferences travel to?

I can prayerfully consider going anywhere to speak as long as my expenses are paid. We have gone to Chicago, Indiana and Virginia - and of course we are going to the Ukraine in October for 10 days. All you have to do as the hostess is provide a location (free ones are nice!!) at church, library, home or other place to hold however many ladies/daughters you think will attend.

Do you have templates we can use?

When you have BGW come to do a conference or workshop, we take the registrations online (see example on my conference page). I have templates for flyers, registrations sign in, ads, press releases, and so much more for you to utilize to make it the best conference or workshop possible.

Who does the advertising of the event?

We both do. You are responsible for getting the word out FAR and WIDE in your area. Advertising the event is the biggest job. Putting out "feelers" before signing a contract for BGW to come is the best way to see what kind of interest there is in your area. I do not mind small groups - oftentimes they are more intimate and personal.. Blessing God's Way advertises the conference on our website (you can on yours as well, if you have one) and we can help locate local entities to spread the word.

What are other aspects do I need to consider?

I like to provide nursery helpers and attendants (you will have to find those in your area) - and we like to do vending tables; giving stay at home moms and other ladies a chance to show their wares, talents and products. If you provide nursery, vending or other services like this, you can charge or not charge depending on your needs and desires. Usually AV equipment is not necessary - and BGW has their own laptop and projector to use for powerpoint presentations.

What are the first steps to having a BGW conference?

1. Filling out the form - Conference Application Contract - please click on this to print off the form and contract for me to come and speak at your event! After we get this contract signed, one of our representatives will be in touch with you on the particulars. This is more or less a means to have your contact information in one place and we can see that you are serious about having our ministry come.

2. Gathering a conference team - getting women to come along side of you to help you in your effort to bring BGW message to your area. Have a meeting and discuss the possibilities, share ideas and assign tasks or jobs to these wonderful volunteers. We believe that having at least 3 other women, beside yourself, is a great number of ladies to pull it off with ease. It can be done with less... but this is just a suggestion.

3. Choosing a location. Making sure it is easy to access for surrounding states and airports. Like we said before, churches, homes, libraries... are all good choices.

4. Choosing a date. BGW does not accept invitations to speak during the school year (end of August till May) due to homeschooling obligations.

What are the perks for the conference host?

If you are hosting, your registration is free! Plus, we will give you a small, thoughtful hosting gift as well. We will even throw in three other free regsitrations for the committed three volunteer helpers you secure to plan the conference. That will help motivate them to get involved and make a difference in your community with you!

What are the typical registrations fees?

We charge $40.00 a day (9:00 am - 5:00 pm) per person and you can pick which topics from the list above. Or, for a Maidens by His Design workshop it would be $50.00 registration fee. Mothers pay, daughers are free (up to three). Only 8 year olds and older take the Maidens workshop so this should help the mothers with more than one daughter in that range. We can do night sessions for an additional fee... or two day conferences or alter this if needed. The possibilities are endless!

What are the costs to the host organization?

Depending on your choice of payment option, you could pay $200. for a speaker fee, plus all travel fees. Or you could pay a percentage through participant registration. Contact BGW to discuss your options.

What other speaking does BGW do?

We host Celebration of Pregnancy! gatherings for women in childbearing. BGW can come and host an event, if it is local. The cost of travel and materials to host plus $50.00 is required for this hosting of a celebration. All the information on Celebration of Pregnancy! gatherings can be found here.
